The Power Of Deep Link Building

The Power Of Link Building

The Web is built on links, and a solid link building strategy is absolutely essential for any business that wants to thrive online. In essence links that point back to your site do two things: they bring you targeted traffic and they enhance your search engine rankings.

By placing your links on another site that is related to your content, you can bring visitors to your site who are interested in the sort of content you offer. And Google, king of the search engines, places more value (and therefore greater rankings) on sites with multiple links pointing back to them.

I’m sure you’ve heard just about every urban myth imaginable regarding the right way vs. the wrong way to generate links back to your site. Let’s forget about all the hoopla for now and look at the simple basics that apply to a good link building campaign.

The first obvious step is to identify placings that offer you targeted exposure. If you have a website about auto repair tips, you need to find sites and directory categories pertaining to auto repair and place your links there.

Simple enough right? So let’s focus on some of the specific types of sites you should be looking to get links from.

Link Directories:

This almost goes without saying, but just to be safe I’ll include it. One way link directories are a good place to submit your links.

Avoid services that offer to broker reciprocal linking between you and other webmasters, as these programs are often viewed as link farms by Google and can get your site booted from the search engine rankings.

Article Submission:

A fantastic way to acquire links back to your site is to write articles related to your site content and submit these to article directories and newsletter publishers. At the end of each article you write you’ll include a resource box (see mine below) that provides links back to your website.

Forum Signatures:

Join forums that are related to the theme of your site and get involved in the discussion. Please do not join a forum and just post a blatant ad about your site, as this will get you ridiculed and possibly deleted; actually join in the conversations, and include a link to your website in your forum signature.

Blog Comments:

You definitely need a blog of your own, but that’s a subject for other articles. In this piece about link building I want you to understand the power of simply posting comments on other people’s blogs.

Find 10 to 20 blogs that relate to your website, and bookmark them or subscribe to their RSS feeds. A few times each week, visit these blogs and post comments on some of the more interesting articles.

You see, when you fill out the comment form you will be asked for your name and website URL, so you can create a hyperlink with your name or business name that leads right back to your site. Be sure that your comments are legitimate contributions and not just some silly ad for your website.

As blogs are often updated regularly, and have many incoming links to them, your comments (and therefore your link backs) are likely to receive a lot of traffic from search engine spiders and real people. So blog comments are a simple but very powerful method for linking back to your site.

Take the contents of this article and put them to use. This is a totally easy, but definitely effective outline for starting a long-term link building campaign that will bring you lots of traffic and good standing with the search engines.

Deep Linking Strategies For Seo

Deep Linking Strategies For Seo

Linking is one of the prime areas of any SEO campaign and is considered a key concept that can drive targeted traffic to your website if done the right way. The good news is that Linking is effective and the bad news is that there are many aspects of linking that have undergone severe changes over the years.

One of the good aspects is that one single linking tip can put you way ahead of your competition especially where most webmasters think that all you need is a reciprocal link directory for gaining link popularity in some of the top search engines like Google or Yahoo. If you have already gone through the Google page rank update then you are aware of the fact that directories with hundreds of links are not happening any more. It is being treated as a negative tactic.

There was a time when content was supreme and then it shifted to design and other elements and it has come full circle back to content. Hence more and more people have started to focus their efforts in content. Let us look at a different perspective, maybe an example.

Hypothetically, you have a website with 500 pages of resourceful content. If you want to publish articles on multiple categories then the page number can go higher up. Now on the other hand if you have a website with 30 pages, you can expect it to grow to 500 if you keep publishing articles. Now each of the articles as well as the resource pages is live links to your web site. There are two ways by which you can get links to your website in a given situation and they are:

You can get a link for your home page as a part of an exchange for a link to one of relevant article pages on the site with whom you are doing the exchange.

The second option is deep linking. In deep linking, you will get a link straight to the particular page on your web site, which you are going to link them to. The question is how will it benefit you?

So let us look at the various benefits of deep linking:

1. This will make webmasters excited regarding linking with you/your site simply because you will be putting them on your web site and not on any low rank, shady website where people might not visit.

2. This will give a signal to other webmasters that you have studied their website carefully and completely and hence know where their link will fit on your website. It is any day better than a simple swapping of web site links. There is a more meaningful result associated with deep linking.

3. You will start to build link popularity directly on to the pages that are within your web site.

4. You will have the leverage and hence you will be in a position to ask for better links from different web sites. This means that there will be no dumping of links. You will also have the advantage of asking for links of importance from various webmasters.

5. Your links page will grow in value because it will not be crammed with links, it will now have only useful or relevant links.
6. These links will help to direct meaningful or targeted traffic to your website, which in the long-run will generate revenue and provide opportunity for many more traffic spikes.

These benefits are enough to keep your website ahead of competition and will not impact your Google page rank severely even when the next page rank upgrade is released.

Deep Link Building: How to Get In-Bound Links to Your Website

Link Building: How to Get In-Bound Links to Your Website

Getting in-bound links to your site is one of the most important things you can do for generating traffic to your site:

* It helps to get your site listed in the search engine.

* It helps to boost your position in the search engine.

* It helps to build small streams of traffic to your site.

Links to your site are normally given by also giving a link from your site to the other one. These are called reciprocal links or link swaps. And naturally there are a few services available to automate the link somehow.

Some of these services will automatically add the link to your site and the other site once your link request is approved (through some software to be installed on your site).

Some will simply point you to sites which do use link swaps and who are interested in hearing from you.

Some will also check that the link to your site remains in place, and email you if it disappears. It’s then up to you to either contact the owner of that site to find out why the link has vanished, or to remove the reciprocal link on your site.

But there is one thing they do not do, and which you need to watch for:

How would a visitor to the other site FIND the link back to your site?

Because you can be sure that if a human visitor cannot find it, then it’s unlikely that a search engine will.

Let me give you an example: Andrew was using the service at LinkMetro.com to get links to one of his sites. Someone had a site on a related topic, and they requested a link back to Andrew’s. He checked the link back to his site, and everything looked OK. The other site had requested a link back to their homepage (rather than another specific page), so Andrew checked out that home page.

What did he find?

* No links to the "link directory".

* No link to a "related sites" page.

* No link to a "resources" page.

It seemed that the link directory on that other site was not linked from the home page of that site.

The other site was requesting inbound links back to its home page, but effectively hiding the return link from the search engines and from website visitors. And that makes the link back to Andrew’s site useless – it’s like that link doesn’t even exist.

So next time you get asked for a reciprocal link, check the route that people and search engines would use to get from that site over to yours. You might be surprised what you find.

Deep Link Building – Natural Linking Behaviour

Link Building – Natural Linking Behaviour

When building links you should always be careful not to represent unnatural link behaviour. Failure to do so may see you link building efforts wasted.

Effective link building is a complex affair and can be an extremely time consuming and laborious task. However quality links are extremely powerful and a constant flow of incoming links is essential for any website hoping to compete in the search engine marketplace.

When building links you should always be careful not to represent unnatural link behaviour. Failure to do so may see you link building efforts wasted. So how do you avoid being flagged as a site that participates in unnatural linking behaviour? Here are a few key pointers you should keep at the forefront of your mind when building links:

Deep Linking Google will give more weight to a site with 500 links all pointing to different pages on a site than it will a site with 750 links all pointing to the homepage. Link exchange programs can be used to acquire high volumes of links in an effort to boost rankings. The traits of a website that participates in such a program are a high percentage of inbound links all pointing to the same destination URL.

Just like any other tactic that becomes popular it often finds itself being abused by unethical SEO’s. And just like with previous tactics, such as stuffing the meta keywords tag, the major search engines adjust their algorithms to filter out websites that employ these tactics from their results.Even if you don’t participate in such a program, you should be mindful that your inbound links don’t all point to the homepage if you want to avoid triggering such filters.Another point to consider is that, with natural links, a website has little control over where an external site links to. Natural links will usually link to a page deep in the websites structure.

Varying Anchor Text

Many webmasters believe that the more keyword rich anchor text links to the target page the better. Wrong! As discussed, when a site acquires links naturally they have little control over where the external site links to. This is the same for the anchor text of natural links i.e. the webmaster has little control of the anchor text of inbound links. If you build high volumes of inbound links with duplicated anchor text you may be signalling to the search engines that there is unnatural linking activity. A high percentage of duplicated anchor text is also another trait of websites that participate in link exchange programs.

Of course it would be madness not to use your keywords in the anchor text of inbound links but to avoid triggering filters you should use variations of your keywords. If your site is about Link Building then, by all means, build links with that phrase in the anchor text but also build links with the terms "Links", "Building Links", "Linking Services", "Linking Strategies", "One-way links" and "Inbound Links" in the anchor text.

Balancing the Equation

There are many ways you can acquire links including Blogs, forum signatures, reciprocal links, articles, directories, press releases, link worthy content, site-wides, buying links and social media marketing, to name but a few. It is highly likely that a website with compelling content will acquire links from a variety of these sources. It will have press releases announcing new content, articles reviewing the site, listings in trusted directories and communities will be discussing the site in Blogs and forums.

A site that acquires links unnaturally may have a high percentage of links from article resource boxes or reciprocating sites. To avoid being picked out as a site that participates in unnatural linking behaviour you should ensure your site has inbound links from as many different types of source as possible.

Summary

Always ensure you have inbound links from a wide variety of sources to avoid triggering unnatural linking filters. Constantly analyse your back links and compare the types of links against each other. If you find you have no links from Blogs, then go off and start participating in a relevant discussion. If you notice there has been no recent news about your site then write a press release announcing the great new feature you have just added for your users. And if you notice that all of your links are from the same source i.e. reciprocal, then build more links from other sources to balance the equation. In all cases vary the anchor text and the destination URL of inbound links.

The Importance Of Deep Link Building For Online Business Growth

The Importance Of Link Building For Online Business Growth

Link Building for online business growth is one of the best approaches you can take to build term online success. The ability to attract both the search engines and internet traffic is essential in order for any business to survive.

By generating traffic to your website thru inbound links connecting from other sites you are able to get your site ranked higher with the search engines. In essence this is what link building is.

Now that we know what link building is and how it benefits us, how do you go about building links to your website?

Let’s review 7 of the most effective ways to create inbound links to your site:

1) CONTENT

Quality content is something everybody who has an internet business is always looking for. This type of content comes in many forms but its net result is always the same with readers, it is popular! It can be thought provoking, controversial, humorous, informative, or maybe late breaking news.

Having this type content on your site will encourage others to link to you.

2) PUBLISH ARTICLES

Writing articles and submitting them to high ranking article directory sites is a great way to attract visitors. This technique will also create inbound links from the directory sites once they publish your article.

Other sites in search for content for their own sites are allowed to use your article with the provision that the resource box remains intact. You now have yet another site linked to yours.

3) SHARING ‘LINK LOVE’ AMONGST FRIENDS

If you’ve got friends or friendly associates who have websites you can link to them and they in turn can link back to you. By doing this everybody benefits!

4) PRESS RELEASES

By using press releases you can call attention to your business. In addition you’ll also benefit from the links you’ve create through the press release syndication itself.

5) PLAY ‘TAG’

Visit social sites such as Digg, Technorati, or Delicious and read some of the articles there. Not only is this a great way to find new ideas for content but you also can tag articles you like; by doing so others will take note and may just return the favor.

6) LOOK AROUND YOUR OWN NICHE

Seek out sites within your own niche that have strong page rankings. Check out their content and look for opportunities to link to them. By doing so you’ve now gained their attention so that they may consider linking back to you if your content shows some value to them.

7) START A BLOG

A blog is the perfect compliment to any website you may already have. Search engines favor blogs as opposed to more ‘conventional’ websites since blogs are updated frequently. Search engines LOVE fresh content and tend to visit sites that update often. With each visit comes a boost in the sites ranking allowing the site to climb in ranking at an accelerated pace.

Blogs have the flexibility to comment on other sites, current news, or even different products. This ability creates an environment allowing a blog to easily gain links from all over the internet.

By focusing on link building for online business growth you are establishing a deeper and wider ranging foundation. By implementing any or all of the 7 strategies we reviewed above you should be able to develop an ongoing stream of organic traffic to your business for a long time to come. A stable and long lasting internet business will result as the product of your efforts.

Contextual Deep Linking Is The Way To Go To Get Along Well With …

Contextual Link Building Is The Way To Go To Get Along Well With Google Algorithm

It is a stark reality that you can not expand your online business without pleasing Google. When it comes to prosperity of your online business, Google is the king. Without taking some steps to get your site listed in the search engine produced results, you can not survive in this highly competitive world of internet.

The best strategy to persuade Google:

There are number of strategies adopted by several companies offering affordable seo services but only few of them are worth considering. Contextual link building is arguably the best strategy till date. Even though the strategy is still in its early days but its widespread use has made it look like an older one.

The extensive use of contextual link building implies the fact that there surely are some benefits which make it a popular option for all SEO companies. Since it is a well known reality that Google and other search engines love the links, so, more and more companies now try to utilize some white hat link building strategies.

Contextual links at a glance:

When someone talks about white hat SEO and link building, they just can not neglect the importance of natural links. Natural links or contextual links are useful because they appear in your posts innately. What it means is that readers never feel like they are reading a promotional blog post and they always click those contextual links to check the site of a company. Not to mention that it augments the traffic and allows you to increase your conversion rate.

The two most important things affecting link building strategy:

Here, you can easily figure out that two things are extremely important for the success of contextual link building strategy. One is the quality of content and the other is the number of links.

If quality of content is not par for the course, people will not bother clicking the anchor text and you will not be able to direct traffic to your site. This will make contextual links nothing more than a waste of time and money.
On the other hand, if number of links will not be perfect or you will not be present at different blogs, Google will never take a notice of your posts. Here again, contextual links will do nothing for your search engine ranking and two of the biggest advantages associated with the concept of contextual link building will be missed by you.

So, what is the solution?

Solution to the problem is simple; don’t compromise over the content. Try to find a professional SEO company offering contextual link building service and allow it to work for you. Some of the best companies offering affordable seo services come with their own special network of blogs and websites which assist them to provide quality inbound links.

Since these companies assure that links will appear naturally in quality content written by niche writers, you can keep your focus on other things without worrying about the two most important things that have an impact on contextual link building strategy. So, cope with Google algorithm in the right way by knowing clearly about all those things which are to be done and which are to be avoided.

Added Value of Anchor Text In Deep Linking

Added Value Of ‘anchor Text’ In Link Building

Successful link building campaign employs many factors which include: Quality of site from which the link comes, Page rank of the webpage, Age of link, Type of link building (Reciprocal, one-way, link buying etc.) and many more. The other point that has become gradually more essential in Link Building campaign is the use of relevant keywords in links.

All major search engines not only count keywords used in your website, they also review the keyword in links. Therefore, it becomes imperative to use competitive and relevant keywords when building links. In SEO terms it is called ‘Anchor Text Optimization’.

Concept of ‘Anchor Text’

The highlighted text in a webpage that redirect to another webpage is called ‘Anchor Text’. For instance, if you have a Link building company, it is obvious that you intend to optimize your site with the keyword ‘Link Building Company’. For this, your first and foremost step will be use of this keyword in your website’s internal pages and the second one, use of the keyword in all your link building efforts. Anchor Text can be used in links by using the following format:

Link Building Company (keyword)

It would generally appear as hyperlinked ‘Link Building Company’. A click on the Anchor Text will redirect you to your website’s page. Along with optimizing your site for search engines ‘Anchor Text’ directly defines the content of webpage and gives an idea about your page.

Keyword Research for ‘Anchor Text’

Excessive use of any keyword in links can penalize your site as it seems unnatural. Use of varying keywords in Anchor text can be valuable for your site’s optimization because it serves you in two manners:

By optimizing site with different keywords, you can target more audience.
Your links look more natural.

However keyword search for Anchor Text is an arduous process. You need to put much effort in detailed research for relevant keywords. You can use Keyword Analysis Tools to make the research simpler. To get the added advantage of Anchor Text, always try to use the most relevant and less competitive keyword rather than same and highly competitive.

Anchor text is weighted highly in search engine algorithms because the linked keyword is usually relevant to the landing page and it also compels people to click the link and visit your site. Thus, when building link for a website never forget to target appropriate keyword in ‘Anchor Text’

Is CSS2 Hurting Your Deep Link Building Efforts?

Is CSS2 Hurting Your Link Building Efforts?

To webmasters that aren’t familiar with this relatively new technique, the css scroll box uses a cascading style sheet property called "overflow" that looks like an iframe when viewed in a web browser. Since iframes have traditionally been difficult for search engines to index, using a web design technique that gives the "appearance" of an iframe can raise suspicions about link building ethics.

While working on an email link building campaign for a website design company, I received a reply from a potential link partner as follows:

"Well you’re using an internal iframe so the place your links are don’t have a good Google PR. No thanks…"

I knew exactly what he was talking about, but he was gravely mistaken. The problem was that our client was using CSS2 and a div tag to display the content of their link partner directory in a style sheet generated scroll box.

To webmasters that aren’t familiar with this relatively new technique, the css scroll box uses a cascading style sheet property called "overflow" that looks like an iframe when viewed in a web browser. Since iframes have traditionally been difficult for search engines to index, using a technique that gives the "appearance" of an iframe can raise suspicions about link building ethics. The truth is that while iframes can cause problems, search engines have no difficulty following links located within a css scroll box.

I replied to the potential link partner that wrote me the email with an explanation of the technique but it was too late. I’d either lost the trust of this particular webmaster or damaged his pride. Either way, I lost a link partner.

I advised that my client remove the scroll box to avoid confusion but the scroll box was a consistent element in their design so they were unwilling to change it. This made my link building efforts for this client more difficult, but I learned a valuable lesson that I can apply to future campaigns.

In summary, you should avoid the use of css generated scroll boxes on your "resources" or "partners" pages, if you’re running an email link building campaign, until webmasters become more educated about the new design options available with CSS2.

5 New Rules for Deep Linking

5 New Rules for Link Building

Have you been reading about link building but don’t know where to start? Are you an experienced SEO specialist using the same methods you always used? Read on to find out how new linking rules will affect the future of your website.

One way links work for search positioning. There’s no doubt about it. But, have you considered that what works today may not work in the future? One exciting aspect about search engines is that nobody really knows everything. That leaves room for webmasters who are willing to research, test, and put into practice the best search engine optimization techniques.

These five rules for one way linking can help steer you in the right direction.

Rule #1: You have to be proactive. Google considers a high quality link something you have to earn. You earn these links by partnering with sites. In order for a partnership to work, you have to develop a relationship. I think more webmasters are open to establishing vital community relationships. It takes trust and a lot of patience for these relationships builds. Focus on what you can do for someone else.

Rule #2: Keep an open mind. High PageRank still lingers in most webmasters’ minds. But, by concentrating on high PageRank sites, we miss out on other linking opportunites. Most of us understand that PageRank doesn’t happen overnight. That’s why it’s important to seek out lower PR, high quality sites. The advantage is that these webmasters are more open to establishing partnerships.

Rule #3: Site age is a big factor. I’ve put together my owning ranking system for evaluating a site’s link "worthiness". One big factor is site age. Any site that has been around since the late 1990s is going to have a higher "score". These sites have weathered search engine updates, bad economies, and bad press. All else being equal, I tend to lean towards site age as the determining factor for a potential link partner.

Rule #4: Stop worrying about what you can’t contol. I get questions all the time from people wanting to know if they can re-design their sites, or link to other sites, or change hosting companies. They want to know if these activities will ruin their search engine rankings. My response is always the same: do what’s best for you and your customers. Don’t NOT do something because you’re worried it will ruin your SEO work. If you have a solid customer base, your search engine rankings won’t be as crucial. The viral aspect of the web is extremely underestimated. Search traffic is only one source of traffic.

Rule #5: Can you be trusted?. Having a solid client list, establishing relationships with other webmasters, provding great customer service. These activites are all based on trust. Can you be trusted to follow through? If you are trustworthy, your link building will be trustworthy. If you’re in it for the short term, like all spammers, then you can’t be trusted.

The web is wide open for those webmasters who are willing to develop relationships for the long run. In the future, one way links will be graded on trust. So, you need to ask yourself, am I trustworthy? It’s give and take. Are you willing to give before you can take?
